Thank you for attending Lesson 7 of our 12 week Training Series! Please note that lessons do not have to be taken in numerical order. You are welcome to start anytime during the 3 month rotation.

Dink Mechanic

  • Soft hand, soft stable wrist, soft body
  • Slightly laid back wrist
  • Push forward- not up (thumb and knuckles are your guide)
  • Contact Point in front – no backswing behind the body
  • Allow weight to flow
  • Just like tossing a ball underhand to your partner
  • Follow through pointing your paddle where you placed the ball

Broken Up Bowtie Drill

  • Players stand straight on. 
  • Place 1 cone in the middle of the NVZ to split their half of the court into 2 halves. 
  • Players will hit 10 shots to each of these directions and then move to the next.
    1. Players dink straight on- forehand to backhand 
    2. Players dink across – backhand to backhand
    3. Players dink straight on – backhand to forehand on the opposite side from round 1
    4. Players dink across – forehand to forehand

4 Player Bowtie Drill

  • Player 1 dinks down the line to the player straight on to them
  • Player 2 dinks cross court
  • Player 3 dinks down the line to the player straight on to them
  • Player 4 dinks cross court
  • Reverse direction in 1-2 min rounds
  • Focus is on changing direction of the ball and squaring up to the ball
