Thank you for attending Lesson 11 of our 12week Training Series! Please note that lessons do not have to be taken in numerical order. You are welcome to start anytime during the 3 month rotation.

Dink Mechanic

  • Soft hand, Soft stable wrist, Soft body
  • Contact point out in front- about 12″ in front of your toes
  • Laid back wrist
  • Don’t take paddle back past your body
  • Slow smooth swing tempo consistent speed all the way through the shot
  • Guide the ball don’t strike the ball

Toss and Lunge Drill: Open Stance Footwork

  • One player tosses a ball wide to opponents side.
  • Opponent must pivot and lunge to reach the ball, not cross over.
  • Feeding player will catch the ball each time and allow partner to reset.
  • Variation #2 = feeder can hit the ball side to side to opponent as they improve.

Depth Changer Drill: Lift and Push

  • Players play straight on to each other
  • Player 1 is simply hitting the dink to their partner like a feed- consistent and unattackable
  • Player 2 is alternating between a lift dink and a push dink
  • 2 min round then switch roles
