Drop or Drive

  • Balls bouncing shallow in the service box and bouncing high are driveable
    • Drive at the player straight on from you or at open court
  • Balls bouncing deep in the service box or bouncing low are balls that you should drop
    • Drop cross court with staggered transition if possible
  • Shallow and High = Make them Cry!
  • Deep or Low = Go Slow!

Drop or Drive Skinny Singles

  • Place cones 2/3rd the way back on service box –  to determine shallow or deep
  • Player 1 serves and they play out the point on the skinny
  • Server focusing on making drop or drive choice based on depth and ball height
  • Non scored – players take turns serving – 3 serves then switch server

Mid Court Catch and Release

  • Player 1 at NVZ and Player 2 at transition zone
  • Player 1 feeds balls to Player 2 at transition zone
  • Player 2 must “catch” or stop the ball with their paddle then gently hit back to their opponent aiming for NVZ
  • Balls can be hit off the bounce or out of the air- variety of feed is good!
  • Make it harder with more pressure from the feeder
