Thank you for attending Lesson 7 of our 8 week Training Series! Please note that lessons do not have to be taken in numerical order. You are welcome to start anytime during the 2 month rotation.

Dink Out of the Air Mechanic

  • Soft hand, Soft stable wrist, Soft body
  • Contact point out in front- about 12″ in front of your toes
  • Laid back wrist
  • Don’t take paddle back past your body
  • Avoid the Dreaded Tush Push – Bend your Knees

Drop Shot Mechanic

  • Reach out with non paddle hand and load forward with non paddle leg
  • Soft hand, Soft stable wrist, Soft body
  • Contact point out in front- about 12″ in front of your front knee and low
  • Laid back wrist
  • Just like tossing a ball or bean bag underhand

Cone Heads Drill

  • Set up cones 1 foot inside the NVZ and about 1 ft on either side of players stance. Place a ball on top of each cone as a target.
  • Players #1 dinks (can hand toss if needed) trying to knock balls off cones
  • Player #2 protects cones by utilizing half volley

Self Feed Drop Shots

  • Player self feeds a ball in front of them and hits drop shots aiming for the NVZ/Kitchen
  • Practice straight on and cross court both directions
